Better than expected
I’ve styled this wig for my Mikan cosplay a bunch of times, and it’s held up like a champ! Seriously, it’s a breeze to style. The color and thickness are spot-on, and I’ve even snagged this same wig in different colors for other projects!

Holy chicken, this wig is $13.00, and that’s a steal. However, the synthetic hair is very shiny. Not Halloween store wig shiny, but not true to actual human hair. The wig in real life is a little less wavy than it appears in the product photos, but that’s not a big deal to me. Plus, I combed it out with a hair pick as soon as I got it (the wig came in a bag, so it was quite frizzy), so that might explain the loss of texture. The bangs are easily styled with a comb or spray water or something, but I haven’t tried heat. The wig looks pretty great as long as you’re not watching the part. It’s one of those round parts at the top crown of the head, and basically, it separates the bangs from the rest of the hair that is longer. You might know what I’m talking about. I hate those “parts”. I hesitate to call them parts. Also, I had a couple of issues with the wig cap. It’s a black wig cap, which doesn’t work well with the cherry-red wig hair. If you don’t have the hair over your ears, you can see the inside of the wig, the wig cap, and your real hair underneath. The wig also came with straps to adjust the size, but I’ve never used them on any wig I’ve owned, and I’ve been fine. They are basically useless on this wig and just get in the way, unless you tuck them in, and that’s difficult because the bangs get stuck underneath too. Speaking of the bangs, some hair is shorter than others? Like in the photo I used, you can see the sideswept bangs, but there are also these clipped, inch-long little bits of hair that just kind of want to stick out on your forehead, and it looks terrible unless you are able to hide them somehow. Luckily, those ghastly smaller hairs seem to fall out on their own during combing. But I don’t know. I’m an amateur cosplayer, and I was just looking for a cheap wig that would work well for me. I think I found that here, but if you’ve had more experience with wigs and cosplay than I have, I would probably go look for something else.

I ordered seven of these red wigs. Yes, seven. My brother was coming back from Brazil, where his fiancee lives with vibrant red hair, so our whole family put on red wigs as a silly joke when he got home. Our youngest red wig wearer is 2 years old and our oldest is 73. While the wig isn’t meant for a 2-year-old, we managed to make it work for the short amount of time a 2-year-old would allow. This wig looked great on everyone who wore it! It was a joke, but we all looked great. The quality was much higher than I expected. It was comfortable to wear. It looked great straight out of the package and took no time to put on and make look good—literally no time. All seven wigs were in great shape, and I was really impressed with the quality.
